Today we have news that a new jailbreak has been released. It’s called Yalu and it comes from none other than Luca Todesco, a name many will know well. Before we talk about Yalu Jailbreak, a little bit about Luca Todesco. He is, as many of us know, an Italian hacker and developer. He is also a security researcher and this explains why we see so many jailbreaks from him that are not released to the public.

Luca is known for showing off jailbreaks when a new firmware is released without any intention of letting the public have the use of it. There is a reason for this , because he is a security researcher, part of his job is to find the vulnerabilities in the iOS firmware and see if he can exploit it. More often than not, those vulnerabilities are patched quickly by Apple shortly after they have been revealed. He has also produced a tool that helps users of the PPHelper [ ext link]. That jailbreak is a semi-untethered one that requires reinstallation whoever your device is rebooted. Luca’s tool is based on JailbreakMe, the original jailbreak tool, and it automatically reactivates the jailbreak for you.
Yalu Jailbreak :
Yalu jailbreak is something a little bit different from the usual jailbreaks. For a start, it is only a beta version which, by nature, means it is going to be somewhat unstable and buggy. Todesco himself has warned that it could cause problems and to be careful when installing it. Other things that you need to know about Yalu Jailbreak, before you rush off to download it, are:
- It is based on XCode and you will need XCode or VM to run it
- It is only compatible with the iPhone 7 | iPhone 7S
- There is no guarantee that Cydia will be downloaded as there is no support for Cydia Substrate. This means that you would only get a basic jailbreak and would need to install Cydia manually afterward
- Lastly, it is not an untethered jailbreak. However, we don’t know at this stage whether it is semi untethered like PPHelper or a fully tethered one.

If you want to download the jailbreak you can and we are going to provide you with the instructions on how to download it and how to delete it if anything goes wrong. Do be aware that, if you do install it and something does go wrong, you may need to restore your device and that will put it on your last iOS firmware.
